FAQS FOR THE KLIFT-IT

STOP —- Before you panic, we are here to help!

What if the O rings are not all the way in the sprinkler?
When you open the package make sure to run your fingers around the rim of the coupler where the O rings are inserted and make sure they have stayed from shipping.
Can I remove the nipple washer on the bottom of the riser?
  • The nipple washer acts as a check valve
  • The check valve nipple washer is removable, just pull it out from the bottom
What Happens if some of your teeth are missing on the riser part of the KLIFT-IT product
  • KJKE has over built the Klift-I to inusre its functionality.
  • Fine teeth can be or be broken off in multiple places without affecting Klift-IT in a negative fashion.
How does the Klift line up in the canister?
  • You must have the long groove lined up or the head will not function properly.
  • Simply line up the long groove with the ridge in the canister.
If the riser and sprinkler won’t slide in the canister easily you’re not lined up correctly.
Do not force the riser into the canister as the riser will stick and the rotor will not function properly.
How to put the coupler on the canister?
  • Thread the coupler to the upper portion of your sprinkler.Line the thread up and turn the coupler a ¼-1/2 turn counter clockwise to align the threads.
  • You will fill it drop or make a slight click sound as it lines up.
  • Once you hear the slot line up then tighten the coupler clockwise until it is snug. It will feel tight and should be tight.

Do NOT over tighten as you can push the seals into the sprinkler.

FAQS FOR KIT CONNECTOR

How do I make sure the tabs are aligned?
The alignment tabs are the triangle shaped part located on each side of the connector, there is a white strip located on the top of the pointed triangle shape. The white strip should align straight across the connector with the other side before inserting wires.
How do I make sure the wires are pushed in all the way?
When wires are stripped to the correct 1″ length, the wire insulation should be inserted into the connector housing 1/4″. If you feel resistance before that depth has been met, continue to push on the wire until it completely bottoms out inside the connector housing.
How do I make sure I am stripping the wire far enough?
The correct wire strip length is 1″, use a tape measure or other form of accurate measuring, mark the wire at 1″ before stripping the insulation off.
Which holes do we insert the wires into?
There are a total of four holes on the connector, two on each side. Any of these four holes can be used to insert your wires once the connector is aligned properly. If only installing two wires, the wires must be inserted into opposing ends, three wires would have two wires in one side and one wire in the other, and a combination of four wires would have two wires installed into each side.
Are the connector dielectric grease filled?
Yes the connectors filled using an oxide inhibiting dielectric compound.
Can the connector be taken apart?
No, the connectors are intended to stay together once installed.
Can the connector be buried in dirt?
The connectors are intended to be located in junction boxes or valve boxes. They can be buried directly in the dirt but performance and service life may be affected.
Can the connectors get wet?
Yes the connectors can be subject to wet and damp locations, however, we do not recommend fully submerging the connections for long periods of time.
Can the connectors be over twisted or twisted too many times?
No, if the total stripped wire is twisted together into the connector housing the connector will simply become free spinning, this is an indicator that all wires have been fully twisted together internally.
How many twists does the connector take to have a completed connection?
We recommend per our instructions a total of 1.5-2 twists alternating sides every 1/2 turn. In other words you would twist the right side 1/2 turn, then the left 1/2 turn, back to the right 1/2 turn and finally the left side another 1/4-1/2 turn.
Will the connectors only turn one way?
Yes, there is a ratcheting mechanism internally that only allows them to turn clockwise.
How do I know the connection is complete and correct?
If the connector has been installed correctly, there will be no visible bare wire exposed from the ends, the connection should feel tight when attempting to twist either end of the housing, and you should be able to tug the wires gently without them pulling out.
Can you use multiple connectors on a single wire?
Yes, you can continue to string connectors on a wire in a series.
Do the wires have to be straight or twisted before inserting them into the housing?
Yes, we recommend always straightening solid core wire and twisting the strands of stranded wire together into a straight and uniform shape before inserting into the connector housing.
